How to Maintain Energy Storage Lithium Batteries

08/13/2021

Newly purchased lithium batteries will be charged at the factory in advance, so customers can use them directly when they get the batteries.

Then use up the remaining power and recharge it. After 2 to 4 times of normal use, the lithium battery activity can be fully activated. Here is a special reminder: Don’t mistake other unprofessional salespeople or rumors on the Internet. The new lithium battery must be activated for up to 12 hours when it is first used.

Lithium batteries have no memory effect and can be charged as they are used, but it should be noted that lithium batteries cannot be over-discharged. Over-discharge will cause irreversible capacity loss to the lithium batteries. When the solar inverter warns that the battery is low, it will start charging immediately.

In daily use, the newly charged lithium battery should be put aside for about half an hour and wait for its performance to stabilize before using it, otherwise it will affect the battery performance.

When the battery is not in use, be sure to remove the battery and store it in a dry and cool place.

Please pay attention to the operating environment of the lithium battery: the charging temperature of the lithium battery is 0℃~45℃, and the discharge temperature of the lithium battery is -20℃~60℃.

Do not put the battery together with metal objects, lest the metal objects touch the positive and negative electrodes of the battery and cause a short circuit of the battery, which may damage the battery or even cause danger.

Do not knock, acupuncture, step on, modify, or expose the battery to the sun, and do not place the battery in a microwave, high-voltage environment, etc.

Use a regular matching lithium battery charger to charge the battery, do not use inferior or other types of battery chargers to charge the lithium battery. Lithium batteries should be charged with 50%~80% of the power if they are not used for a long time, and stored in a dry and cool environment. Charge the battery about every 3 months to avoid long storage time and low power due to self-discharge. , Resulting in irreversible capacity loss.

The self-discharge of lithium batteries will be affected by the ambient temperature and humidity. High temperature and humidity will accelerate the self-discharge of the battery. It is recommended to store the battery in a dry environment at 0°C to 20°C.
